Blagdon Hydratech Torrent Pond Pump
The Blagdon Hydratech Torrent pond Pumps have a unique duplex magflow electronic performance impeller system. Normal magnet drive impellers have very low torque so they are designed to prevent large particles jamming the impeller and stopping the pump. The blagdon torrent pumps have a very open face impeller and high clearence all around the impeller to take large particles. The down side to this design is that the impeller cannot get hold of the water and create any pressure, backpressure on the system simply pushes water back through the gaps around the impeller.
The Blagdon Pond Pumps Duplex Magflow System - The snail shape of the chamber creates an area of tight tolerence where the impeller can generate significante pressure and higher clearence areas where particles are picked up in the flow. The design is only possible because of the unique self-cleaning action, which operates if a particle doeas become trapped by the impeller.
